from pinterest to wedding

So.. we highly encourage our brides to get their Pinterest action on! Yes!! We love when brides have some inspiration and have collected images that inspire the tone of their big day.  Once the bride links us to these boards we can get on the same page and develop the ideas further.

But do you ever wonder what you actually get?  Well here it is. We got our inspiration images, the brides special requests and our personal touch and expertise... we combined all that glory and her you have it.  Take a look:

Inspiration Images

She was looking for a very girly, pink, roses and hydrangea wedding.  When I would inquire for more she would just respond with a giggle and say "PINK!".  She was channeling her inner 16 year old girl that had envisioned this wedding all her life.  I loved her sincerity and her sheer joy of getting married was palpable and I couldn't wait to translate her version of that into floral designs.

Actual Wedding Images

So her fiancé wouldn't kill her, I added some accents of 'masculine' tones.  Such as the antique hydrandea, which I knew the bride loved.  There were strict instructions to not use any greenery.

Let me end this by saying Pinterest is not the end all be all of wedding inspiration or event planning/styling.  It helps.  BUT we love when a bride comes in just as excited to let us start with a blank slate.  We have had a couple of those weddings and we will soon write a post about one of those. So, stay tuned.

Nothing makes me feel a honored as seeing my work in an inspiration board.  Today our work got featured on a wedding blog I haven't even heard about but excited to put it on the list, Knotsvilla. Take a look at what the created with our bouquet in the far bottom left corner.

The image was from the first photo shoot we ever did! YES! I think I had day dreamed about it so much that it turned out to still be one of my favorites.  Go take a look HERE.  This amazing shoot was created with the ever so talented Christina from Pomp & Circumstance and Joseph from Joseph West Photography

This inspiration board is dreamy! Thank you KnotsVilla.

here's another one

So the vacation is slowly coming to an end and the inevitable stress of work is creeping in.  To maintain this insane stress level at bay I am going to faithfully continue to sketch.  Here's to another sketch with inspiration drawn from a picture on Pinterest.

the new year

The new year is right around the corner and I am super amped at what is to come.  Fresh starts, new projects and so many good weddings to look forward to.  This Spring is looking like one of the most exciting seasons yet and can't wait to continue to share all the goodies with you!  But today first.  We got some images back from a fun wedding we did in a ranch venue here in Texas.

Sometimes we got to snag some images from Facebook but it's always exciting when it's because the bride and her mom love the flowers so much they had to share!

inspiration station

There are very few websites/blogs that I am truly in love with and check every single day.  Botanical Brouhaha is one of them.  Amy McGee has creating a safe haven where us floral designers (from around the world) can come enjoy other fellow designers work, educate ourselves and ask questions only relevant to our industry.  I have been following her since she began this blog, maybe because it fell almost exactly when I first started my business, but non the less it has become a necessary resource and slight addiction.

Yesterday we were doing are regular scroll through and came across another bouquet of ours in adorable post called 'Sittin' Pretty' go take a look HERE
