we can't do it alone: having a in-house team and vendor team that rocks, makes a difference

This past weekend, not different than most, reminded me the value of team work. Not only with my team at the studio but the team at the venue. To feel supported, cared for and thought of during the setup from the venue is something that has been elevated by The Revaire. Their team not only thought about how to make all the vendors have an easy load in and load out, they thought of how to keep them safe.

They supply scissor lifts, ladders, easy load in, overnight storage of supplies, set ups starting days before, and breakdown on Monday mornings. But more importantly you feel like you are part of the team. These items and flexibility is what makes each event go smoothly, and feel less rushed.

Breaking down an event on Monday allows us to stay off the roads in the middle of the night. Breaking down an event might be one of the most hazardous elements of our job. My team is tired and have been working 12hr days since Monday morning to make it all come together. By Saturday night everyone is EXHAUSTED!!! Not only are we not at our very best, but lets be real roads at midnight to 4am are not the safest in Houston, Texas. As we have one of the biggest drinking and driving record in the States.

So I tip my hat off to you The Revaire for making us a priority. To make us feel like part of the team. We appreciate you and thank you. And side note, lets see if we can make this breakdown on Monday a thing. For our safety. PLEASE!

a little something on the brighter side

Brides tend to shy away from color, and we completely understand why they lean towards that direction.  Quite frankly, we love muted tones.  But!!! We love color too. And a couple weeks ago we got to pair up with the talented team from Little Coterie to create a colorful, fun filled fiesta.

This cheerful wedding was what our portfolio needed to get the Summer months started.  Lots of peonies, ranunculus, and garden roses were in their high end sophisticated mix.  And let's not forget those gorgeous details that the owner of Little Coterie, Courtney, does not shy away from.  Turquoise printed escort cards to gorgeous bride and groom signs to make everything feel thought of and well put together.

These gorgeous images taken by our friend Paige at Awake Photography.

allie & adam

After several days of rain, Houston skies opened up and gave us one of the most gorgeous days we have had this year.  And it couldn't have happened at a better moment that to make this day just perfect for the sweetest of couples!

Allie has been the sweetest bride to work with and has truly trusted that our design capabilities would come together with her vision to create something she would love.  Her heart was full of love and her mother was exactly the same.  Super gracious, polite, trusting and truly a gem of a client.  They are dream clients and I could't have been more excited to have been chosen as their flower designer!

We are super thrilled to share some of the first pictures released by their photographer.  She and her hubby look like they could explode in hearts and sunshine.  We loved worked with them and only hope that they will have yearly anniversary parties that we can be a part of.

This bouquet! So soft, elegant and just perfect for our sweet bride.

they end up

Sometimes there are leftovers and sometimes they end up inside my home in my workspace.  It's very rare.  My roommate, also known as my boyfriend, is allergic to flowers.  Yes, you heard it here.  The floral designer's boyfriend is allergic to flowers!

This was the bridal bouquet for this weekend's bride.  Well, the raw version before it was wrapped and ready to go.  Then the leftovers...

a new view

With a new camera comes a new perspective.  After much deliberation and struggle between taking a vacation or purchasing a new camera... the new camera won, at least for the moment.  The vacation is still being planned.

So with that said you'll begin to notice a new series of posts that are much more personable, fun and maybe occasionally a DIY for those who like to play with flowers.  Here's just the beginning... Several pics of an arrangement made with a combination of some wedding left overs and some left from a styled shoot.

Stunning Bridals

Ann Marie looks just amazing in her bridals.  I have to admit it drives me a little crazy to know that we have to wait until after the wedding to share the images knowing they are going to be ridiculous, like these.  But we waiting and holy madness these were well worth the wait.  The venue, Chateau Cocomar, is one the most amazing spaces for the over the top bride who loves something glamorous.  All the separate rooms guides itself to different themes and lighting that makes photographing bridals spectacular. Here is what Johnathan Ivy came up with:

Burnett is on Board

I've been stocking Burnett's Board for the last year and never imagined some of our work would get picked up for a feature.  Sara Burnett has impeccable taste and her relentless promotion of great work from all around the world only humbles us that she choose us.

A great team was crucial to making this happen and must be mentioned.  Event Planning by Christina at Pomp and Circumstance, Photography by Kimberly at Kimberly Chau Photography, Linens by Over The Top, Makeup and Hair by Southern and Adorn, Cupcakes by RED dessert dive.  Other details:, China Collection Anthropologie, Suit, Tie, Shirt , Billy Reid, Jewelry J.
